The Create Place x Fast Fashion Therapy
26th June 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
A regular clothes alterations and mending workshop: Eleanor and Sarah are on hand to help with the mending and upcycling of your clothes, practice darning and patching techniques on examples or bring along your own clothes to repair and alter.
Sometimes it is the smallest repairs or alterations that prevent us from wearing our clothes. Learn clothes alterations by taking up hems, making waists smaller or bigger. Repairing zips and learning to sew on a button. Beginners are welcome to our in person and online workshops.
We are a friendly and inclusive group, feel free to share ideas with others on how we can mend our clothes to work towards recycled fashion and zero waste, fixing, repairing or mending clothes.
There is space for 8 people around one large table. Basic sewing kits are provided for you to use during the class plus some materials. Sewing machines are provided and we can show you how to use them to mend your clothes. All you need to bring is one or two items of clothing you want to fix, alterations or upcycling. Here are a few ideas on what people bring along.
- At the Create Place, Bethnal Green
- 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
- 6:30 to 8pm

About Us
Fast Fashion Therapy is a sewing workshop that encourages mending, upcycling and alterations of clothes, looking to break our habit to always buy new. A collaboration between Eleanor & Sarah, the original idea for the name came from creating a workshop space that acted as a practical therapy for our collective addiction to fast fashion.
