The Remakery x Fast Fashion Therapy

A beginners sewing workshop: Eleanor and Sarah are on hand to help you mend your clothes through darning, patching, alterations and upcycling including denim repair. Practice techniques on examples or bring along your own clothes to repair and alter.
Patching is one of the visible mending techniques we teach at the workshop. It is the ideal way to mend woven clothes such as denim jeans, shirts, skirts or tops. Learn to mend your clothes with hand sewing technique such as Boro and Sashiko. Or use the sewing machines for a quicker result.
We have space for 12 people. Two to three sewing machine places and the rest hand sewing spaces including darning and patching. We provide an individual basic sewing kit for you to use during the class plus some materials.

- Book via Eventbrite
- At The Remakery, 51 Liford Road, London, SE5 9HA (Brixton, Camberwell, Peckham, Southwark, Lambeth).
Fast Fashion Therapy
Fast Fashion Therapy is a sewing workshop that encourages the repair, upcycling and alteration of used clothes, looking to break our habit to always buy new. A collaboration between Eleanor & Sarah, the original idea for the name came from creating a workshop space that acted as a practical therapy for our collective addiction to fast fashion.
The Remakery was born in 2012 out of a disused car park in South London. Located between Brixton and Camberwell, our not-for-profit maker-space has fostered a community of makers, artists, local residents and enterprises that have been breathing new life and creativity into things destined for landfill.
Encouraging people to actively rethink, recover, reuse and redistribute surplus materials
